Wine is mentioned In the Bible, including the Old and New Testaments, about a hundred times, and holds a significant place in religious texts. It is often mentioned as part of everyday life and a symbol of celebration, joy, blessings, prosperity, and divine sacred grace.

In this article we will cover the most significant appearance of Wine, the first miracle where Jesus turned water into wine: (Gospel of John Verse 2)

The Wedding Miracle in Cana of Galilee

Jesus and his disciples were invited to a wedding in the village Cana of Galilee. During the wedding, the hosts ran out of wine, which was a significant social embarrassment.

Then Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus, noticed this and approached her son, saying:

“They have no wine.”

Jesus seemed hesitant and responded:

“Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.”

However, Mary said to the servants:

“Do whatever Jesus tells you.”

Nearby stood six stone water jars and Jesus said:

“Fill the jars with water.”

So, they filled it to the brim, then Jesus said:

“Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”

They did so and the Master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine.

Then the Master said:

“Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”

What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
